Hair, Height, and Shoe size Correlation.

In this graph you see that there is a relationship between my classes shoe size and height. There is a correlation and you can tell that its positive due to the dots rising from the left to the right. Looking at the plot it seems to me that the shoe size does not affect the the cause of the height; but as for the height affecting the shoe size i do belive that as the height progresses the shoes size get bigger. The correlation of this graph is not a imly causaility.

From what I see in this scatter plot, the results of my class are placed everywhere around the graph. You cant seem to choose if the gragh is a positive or negative correlation and because of that there is none. The graph gives me the information that my class has a variety of hair lengths no matter how tall or short the student is. What I find unusual from the data points is the tallest person has the shortist hair and the fairly tall person has the longest hair length. If I were to throw out the outliers out of the data set the correlation would be a positive one. The information that could be helpful in interpreting the data is to add the sexes of each dot in two seprate colors.

Phineas Gage

Reading Phineas Gage at first looking at the cover I told myself that this book wasn't going to be interesting but no wonder they say don't judge a book by its cover. After reading the first page I was pulled in! What the book explained was about Phineas' severe brain accident. What interest me was how the book informs you about the century and his dangerous but serious job of working on the railroad activating "explosives." Phineas somewhat got distracted and got struck by his tamping iron through his head, that was built with a point on one end. Phineas being able to talk and walk right after the accident is what amazed me the most. Never in my life have heard a true story of someone acting like nothing happened after experiencing a serious accident. Phineas became famous quickly and nobody couldn't believe he was still alive, able to walk, and do things a regular person could do.

What i admired about this book is the transition of Phineas' story to the intersting information of the brain and the names of each different part and how they work such as the "broca area", a part in your brain that if damaged, affects your speech. It also explains that the brain splits in two halves "right and left hemisphere." All this information of the basic parts of how the brain works was very easily explained while telling Phineas' accident. How the doctors tried to figure out what happened to Phineas divided them into two groups to see who would be able to find out why Phineas was alive and what changed his personality.

This astonished me, knowing the way each doctor looked and the equipment they used in their time because they had very little tools and education. I like science and how it works to be broken down in a way that I understand. This is what the book did and that's why I loved it! It had visual pictures for those who understand things visually. What I found interesting to me as well was the pictures of the locations where he once was. The skull/case in memory of Phineas and the information of what happened to him and what caused his death was bizarre to me because he repeatedly had seizures and acted like nothing was wrong. My family members who are just about my age, some a little older watched me read this book abd said exactly what I thought when I first looked at the cover. After I explained to them a brief summary, they had a craving to read the book as well. I would recommend this to a friend because it's very informative and easily to understand. Plain and simple the book keeps it's interest.

My Experience

I never in my life have created a blog before. Going through this process had me going crazy. I called one of my good friends to help me create my blog, but that only helped very little. I am very new to blogging but I have certainly heard of it. After going through the internet trying to find my assignment. I finally knew what to do. At first I had blogged about the Tittle and the question that appeared in the URL given to me by my teacher. The tittle was Education Before Death. I wrote about that, but then later I thought this was too easy. I started to explore and I found my AP Psychology teachers page. I clicked on his blog and soon found out what I had to do.

All this time I was doing something completely different. Soon after seeing the page i then became familiar to what i had to do. Due to this being my first time blogging I felt like i was learning how to speak french. I constantly went back to my teachers page to make sure I have everything I need in order to create my blog. In the way he wanted it to be. Truthfully this is the most hardest things i had to do. I have been going through the internet for about 2 hours already. I'm glad I got this first assignment over with. Now that I learned how to blog I feel like it will help me a lot for my AP psychology class because if I passed this assignment I'll feel like I can do anything.

Having my work shown to my peers and teachers does not mind to me. I'm glad to show others what I'm thinking so that we can relate on any subject that we are talking about. This blog will not only help myself but my peers as well. We can feed of each others opinions and or mind sets on the subjects that we are going to cover through out the year. Creating this blog not only for myself but for others as well I bet they felt like they accomplished a lot, and went through a storm trying to get this together. This is my first assignment/BLOG hope you liked it.
